1547 Critical Systems Realty Announces Building Blessing: AlohaNAP Facility Will Allow North American Companies To Reach Asian Markets In A Single Hop And Vice Versa

KAPOLEI, HI – October 8, 2014 – fifteenfortyseven Critical Systems Realty, LLC (1547), a developer and operator of custom-designed data centers and Hawaii Pacific Teleport (HPT), an international provider of satellite and fiber-based communications, today announced that the blessing ceremony for the grand opening of their AlohaNAP data center and network access point in Kapolei will take place on October 9, 2014. The event marks the launch of the AlohaNAP facility and the commitment of 1547 and HPT to the community and to developing the unique communications features of the location.

A traditional Hawaiian blessing is meant to foster a positive and balanced environment, ask for protection and safety, and enable residents to live and work together in harmony.

“This ceremony represents our dedication to AlohaNAP, Kapolei, and Hawaii as a whole,” said Corey Welp, 1547 Managing Director. “We hope to achieve “Aloha,” or mutual regard and affection, for the island and its residents through a our commitment to developing the AlohaNAP into the premier network interconnection and technology facility in the Pacific. Developing this NAP and data center would be impossible without community support and local technology expertise, and we are grateful for all of the support we have received during the last year as we developed and constructed the facility.”

A NAP, or Network Access Point, is a fiber interconnection that relays and ties together Internet access providers and networks throughout the world. While the existing AlohaNAP facility will offer voice, internet, broadcast, and custom connectivity solutions throughout Asia and the Pacific, the planned data center and communications campus will enable built-to-suit turnkey data center space of up to 50,000 square feet.

The AlohaNAP Network Operations Center (NOC) will also provide 24/7 support for wholesale colocation customers, cloud operators, and end users. Its strategic location and combination of satellite, land, and undersea fiber connectivity will allow North American companies to reach Asian markets in a single hop and vice versa.
